Fairfield fireworks explode at night over the Sound

In anticipation, visitors to the beach from near and far were spending the time eating pizza, swimming, blowing soap bubbles, scavenging for ice cream in a Mister Softee truck parked on Fairfield Beach. Road and throwing soccer balls. The crowd calmed down as the pyrotechnics began and the “oohs” and “aahs” began in response to complex demonstrations.

The show lasted for over half an hour, after which the mass exodus across the beach began.
