A COUPLE are finally ready to open their first permanent fireworks store after struggles during Covid.

Sue and Jason Moreby, from Halstead, aim to open their Fury Fireworks shop this month.

Jason, who has been in the fireworks industry since 1990, previously started a fireworks business in Halstead from the same store in 1993.

Since then he has done exhibitions at Braintree Rugby Club and Halstead Football Ground, as well as exhibitions for John Peel, Green King Brewery, late Christmas shopping in Sudbury as well as weddings, parties and festivals.

Sue said: “We met at work and I discovered that I had the same passion for fireworks as Jason.

“Over the past few years we have had a real struggle with the pandemic and we finally have our first permanent store and the displays are coming.

“We are fully booked for this year and November next year, but we are continually contacted for weddings and public events.”

The shop also works with the charity Jade Goody’s Cancer Rehabilitation Trust and is hosting an exhibition for the cause in November to raise funds.

Sue added: ‘We will be selling fireworks anywhere, novelty items, sparklers, light products, cake toppers, barrages, rockets, compounds and firing systems for those who wish have a more professional back garden display.

“We are aiming to open the store in mid-September and we will be more than happy for people to come to us for any help or inquiries they may have for retail fireworks or fireworks displays. professionals.

“We also offer cool sparklers that can be used indoors or outdoors for that special moment or beautiful aisle fountains when you’re away from your wedding venue.”

Sue said the response has been positive and they are excited to get going.

She said: “Overall the response has been positive with lots of questions asked.

“We are excited to open the boutique as it will be a place for couples to come and discuss their wedding plans so we can make their day extra special with great photo opportunities.”

The store is located at Coach House opposite Townsford Mill, Halstead.
