Maxwell’s Single ‘Off’ Rockets at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Release Chart

Maxwell has the number one R&B song in the country, as “Disabled” takes the top spot on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart. It is his eighth number one single on this chart, tying him with Charlie Wilson with the most number of male artists.

Before Maxwell’s rise to fame, he last recorded a smash of this caliber in 2016 for “Lake by the ocean.”

The Grammy-winning song spent ten weeks atop the chart. Later that year, he almost bonded with another frontman for “1990x.” Both songs are taken from blackSUMMERS’nightvolume 2 of his trilogy.

Maxwell scored his first hit single in 2001 for “Lifetime”, from his third studio album, Now. The tune topped the chart for 15 consecutive weeks.

About DARK SUMMER NIGHT, Maxwell said in a press release last year that the third and final set should be released this spring. Moreover, in this announcement, it revealed it would be published under its Musze, Inc. imprint in partnership with BMG.

“I look forward to this next chapter and this new partnership with my label Musze/BMG and all that we can accomplish together. The sky’s the limit,” Maxwell said after parting ways with his longtime label, Columbia Records.

“Off,” which also hit number one on R&B radio, is the lead single from Maxwell’s highly anticipated album. DARK SUMMER NIGHT. It is not known if his previous single from 2018 “Shame” will make the final tracklist. The single marked her 14th top 10 single on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, peaking at #8.

Maxwell, who brought home the Legend Award at last year’s Soul Train Awards, spear a second line of limited-edition luxury sunglasses with STATE Optical Co.

Right now, Maxwell is knocking house across the country on his Night visit. Joe and Anthony Hamilton join as special guests.
