What is the correspondence?

Trent Rockets take on Welsh Fire in the final match of the 2022 Women’s Hundred competition.

When does it take place?

The match is scheduled to start at 3.30pm BST on Monday August 29.

Where is the game played?

This match will take place at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

Who has the form?

If form was based solely on each team’s last game, Welsh Fire would be the heavy favorites for this one. The Fire beat the Northern Superchargers in their last outing, posting 123 for 6 – thanks mainly to contributions from Sarah Bryce and Annabel Sutherland with the bat – before holding the Superchargers to just 112 for 8 in response. Nicola Carey kept his cool with the ball, returning numbers of 3 for 18 of his 20 deliveries.

In stark contrast, Trent Rockets had a dismal afternoon against Southern Brave, as they suffered one of the heaviest defeats of all time in The Hundred. The Rockets could only manage 88 for 8 with the bat, including a miserable nine-run haul and four wickets from their last 20 balls, before Brave took a 10-wicket win with a massive 44 balls to spare.

What’s the team news?

Welsh Fire now lives without Hayley Matthews, after returning to Barbados for the Caribbean Premier League. New Zealander Maddy Green is his replacement in the squad, but is unlikely to feature.

The Rockets would have loved to polish their side after Brave’s humility, but their batting options are limited and the top six look pretty much set.

What is the key match?

If Fire can contain the Rockets mid-order like Southern Brave did, they’re in business. But the likelihood of Marie Kelly, Nat Sciver, Mignon du Preez and Alana King being equally silent in a second game in a row is questionable. Much will fall on Nicola Carey’s shoulders with the ball once again.

Can I get tickets?

This game is sold out.

What’s the weather like?

A cool 19 degrees Celsius and overcast skies at the time of the first delivery, with a minimal chance of rain.
