Their game is preceded by the Women’s Hundred showdown, an afternoon showdown between two teams on two runs in two games and the Invincibles are 8/11 on shots, the Rockets 11/10.

If Invincibles skipper Sam Billings wins the coin toss at Trent Bridge on Wednesday night, then the form screams “put the Rockets in it!”

The Trent Rockets have raced in the 2022 Hundred three times and won all three. Last time out at Birmingham Phoenix they lost the coin toss, were asked to strike and crashed out with an emphatic loss at seven wickets.

Okay, that’s not a huge sample, and hitting second after winning the toss seems like a no-brainer for both of these teams anyway.

The hosts are 4/5 to snap their losing streak to one and they will look up command for the platform where Dawid Malan and Alex Hales have been in sparkling form. For the first time this year, both missed the Phoenix on Monday, so both will be gagged to fight back.

Malan, their top scorer with 217 runs to 72, is 5/2 to be Trent’s top scorer, Hales – with 143 quick runs to his name – is 5/2. It should be noted that their best stick at Edgbaston on Monday was Daniel Sams – who arrived at just eight! It’s 40/1 that lightning strikes twice and Sams tops the lists once again.

Will Jacks is 10/3 to be the Invincibles’ leading scorer and he’s in fine form after his record-breaking fireworks display at The Oval on Sunday night.

Jacks hammered an undefeated 108 on just 48 balls in the win over Southern Brave, snapping eight sixes and ten fours for the highest individual tally to date in The Hundred.

Jason Roy, Rilee Roussouw, Skipper Billings, all glorious hitters in their own right, left the stage early leaving center stage for the Jacks to ensure the home side got past the Braves 137-6 with 18 bullets to spare.

Tailors Reece Topley and Sam Curran had previously thrown 22 point balls between them and how they face Malan and Hales may well determine the outcome. And they’re so good at what they do, the Invincibles are watching the bet.

Defending Hundred Women champions Oval Invincibles made a call that left many in the comment box baffled last time out when captain Dane van Niekirk was left out against Southern Brave – and it went down. returned dramatically.

Van Niekirk, who led the Invincibles to glory last year, steered the Surrey franchise to a nine-wicket win in their opener against Northern Superchargers – but was omitted from their second game, the showdown Sunday with the Braves.

No one can guess how disruptive that turned out to be, but the fact is they lost the game by 12 points.

It’s hard to imagine the South African star missing out on Trent Bridge again, but with the eyes of the cricketing world staring at him, should he be trusted at 10/3 in the Invincibles’ top scorer bets .

Lauren Winfield-Hill has had the better score in both matches so far, so she might well be preferred at 13/5 anyway.

The Trent Rockets, like their opponents, won one and lost one, beating the Originals by 45 runs before succumbing to Birmingham by eight wickets.

Alana King, the heroine of the hat-trick victory over Manchester, has taken five for 33 from 40 balls so far and her leg rotation success in conditions that may be less useful than before after the rains, could finally decide who wins this.

The Invincibles are 8/11 shots but look unstable, which seems to give the Rockets some value at 11/10
